Old Souls:Lost in the rat race of materialism and the new age world

Have you every been called boring by your friends,when you do not want to go to social gatherings and rather spend a quiet night by yourself listening to your genre of music and reading up on a book? According to Micheal Newton, a hypnotherapist who was converted into believing about past lives in his book "Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives",discussed that souls are an existence which is not limited to the boundaries of a human being's mortal flesh. Simply put,he provides a perspective of death and rebirth of a human soul based on the maturity of the spiritual development of the human "soul age". The soul age refers to the number of experiences a soul has had in the form of lives not only on planetary earth but beyond. Greater the soul age greater the perspective of life, fostering of a "live and let live" outlook of life and less requirement of materialistic possessions.

Let us deep dive into soul age levels. As seen below,in the bell curve image illustrating the growth stages of a human soul; we can see that each stage has an evolutionary effect a human being as they grow in age. At every stage in life,we face range of experiences in the form of our relationships with people. So let me dissect this bell curve with an example. When a human's age is between 2-16 i.e from childhood to adolescence, we have quick shifting needs and priorities. So when a person is from the age 3-13, key characteristics would be friendliness, enjoying playing in the outdoor parks, laugh at silly jokes,fear of the dark and certain animals. Contrary to that persons from the age group 13-18, the brain development heightens and thus,a sense of self righteousness, competitiveness, enterprise-orientation, to a state a few is seen as traits amongst the teenagers.

Just comparing these stated sets of age groups,we can notice a vast shift in the mindsets, thought patterns in decisions and relationships and changes in generic needs and requirements of a human. The age group between 20-28 are the peak action years of a soul as here, the human soul is battling to create an enterprise mindset, material wealth acquisition, typically termed as "the young blood".

Now,let us compare the age group of a mature soul( adult age group ranging between 29-55) and an old soul (elderly age group ranging from 56 and beyond).Once the human soul has made a mark in the material realm of the world,there is a striking soul age paradigm shift. The young soul that is set to believe in being fierce and cut-throat slowly starts repositioning itself to philosophical and humanitarian.

Old souls can be embodied in any age group. When a person is wise beyond his age and are far more enlightened than others amongst his age group,he/she is said to be an old soul. This occurs when a person is more spiritually inclined and has reincarnated in many life times and has acquired knowledge from his past lives than an average person.
