"The subconscious mind is what a man is.The conscious mind is what a man knows" ~Neville Godard

We all fear from the word "Karma". There is a negative connotation attached to this term when we hear it. Let us understand what does Karma really mean. In Hinduism and Buddhism scriptures, Karma is explained as " the sum of a person's actions in this birth and in previous lifetimes, that are viewed as deciding their fate in future existences".

According to Dr.Jennifer Rhodes, a licensed psychologist, karma is simply those situations or interactions that help us navigate to our path to higher purpose. There is a deeper meaning to karmic relationships that we form in life. Hate it or love it, we all have karmic ties/ relationships throughout our lives.

So what is the purpose of a karmic relationship? Firstly, such a relationship is not always rainbows and butterflies. It functions on the principle of cause and effect. According to this principle, whatever thoughts and energy you put out into the universe, you get back-good or bad. In order to get what we want,we have to embody and believe we are worthy of those things.

I am going to provide you with a live example that I had faced at my workplace a long time back. I had a very close colleague that I used to share my work station with for quite a long time. There was a new curriculum added in that year and she was given a module in that area, whereas I was having my usual curriculum to teach. One day, way before our summer break, I happened to casually tell her. "Hey, I got this feeling that post our summer break we would be having different work stations and might not share the same 8 hours of a daily interaction". It was a a very casual comment that I passed amidst our conversation.

We resumed our work post the summer break and what do we notice, BAM!! We got different work stations. For a couple of weeks, I was quite bleh! about this fact. And, she brought it to my notice, "Komal, you had said this before our vacations and see this is exactly how it happened!!"

In the above example, I put out the energy into the universe that I will be separated by my work-colleague, without a shadow of doubt, I passed this statement. Now, you see the trick here is, the Universe conspires against the energy that we put out, and most of the times, it is the sub-conscious things that we speak turn into reality. The principle of cause of effect rightly put to practice!!

In a similar pattern, that is what a karmic relationship is. A karmic relationship enters your life to beat and heal the shadow aspects of your personality. Let us understand the term "shadow aspect". A shadow aspect is a part of our personality that we are least confident about or better put insecure about. As human law of nature states that, we all want to appear flawless as individuals, hence, these are the areas that we all run away from and we tend to hide in front of the world.

This shadow self is addressed in a karmic relationship to help us shed our inhibitions in the most tumultuous ways. The Universe aligns people and relations in our life in the form of karmic connections so that we can address our fears, anxieties and inhibitions to live the highest versions of our true selves.

Many of you all may ask me, how to to I figure out, that I am in a karmic connection or a karmic soul tie? The answer to that is mentioned below:

ree

#1 A relationship where you are highly co-dependent and you cannot let go off.

#2 A highly instable connection that consists of heated arguments rather than conversations.

#3 The relationship is addictive yet frustrating at the same time.

#4 Bouts of miscommunication and lot of drama.

#5 They bring out the worst in you ( Remember, the shadow aspect of your personality?)

#6 There is a feeling of suffocation yet you wish to keep trying to give endless number of chances to the relationship.

#7 The connection is more fear-based rather than freedom-based.

#8 It is a mentally, energetically and emotionally exhausting.

Now, a karmic connection can enter into your life either in a romantic format or a platonic relationship. The whole connection is based on the premise of intensity- which initially starts off on a 'feel-good' factor basis and slowly converts into a 'fear-based' connection as the layers of our unhealed personalities come onto the surface that we do not wish to address.

However, the Universe is always working behind the scenes to ascend you to a higher version of yourself. Hence, we all, in some point in our lives, meet karmic soul mates to abolish the darker aspects of our personality, in order to live our most authentic true selves.
