Ever noticed Elon Musk,Christiano Ronaldo and Andrew Tate's placement of their index fingers and thumbs in an interview? A few years back,I was watching a Youtube Video of Times Magazine, where Elon Musk was interviewed for being awarded the Person of the Year, and to my amazement I noticed the placement of his fingers in a lotus shape which was quite mystifying to me. He was practicing the Hakini Mudra. This Mudra is a powerful mudra that stimulates the mind and increases mental agility in decision making. Top entrepreneurs who lead tedious lifestyles of stress, multitasking which does lead to brain fatigue, follow this Mudra religiously as it boosts memory, focus and concentration.

Hakini Mudra is an ancient hand gesture practiced in Yoga and meditation to enhance concentration, memory power and mental clarity. The term "Hakini" is coined from "Hakini Shakti", a Hindu Goddess associated with the 6th Chakra of the chakra system; the Ajna Chakra or also known as the 3rd Eye Chakra. This Chakra is responsible for intuition, insight and mental prowess. This mudra helps establish a balanced connection between the two hemispheres of the brain. This stated mudra can be performed for 30-35 minutes at a stretch or for 12 minutes at a stretch thrice a day, preferably early hours of the morning.

So my readers would be intrigued to know how to practice this Mudra in real time? That is exactly the next section of my article discussion; how to perform this Mudra mindfully.

1) Sit in a relaxing position in a lotus pose or a diamond pose.

2) Close your eyes to enhance focus and concentration on the hand gesture.

3) Focus on the breathing with controlled breath of equal inhale and exhale.

4) Lift your hands and face your palms towards each other. Join the fingertips of the left and the right palms.

5) Lift the joined fingers towards the forehand at the site of the Ajna Chakra.

6) Move your gaze upwards and focus on the Ajna Chakra.

7) Breathe in and breathe out easily, placing the tongue against the roof of the mouth.

8) Allow the tongue to relax as one breathes out.

While releasing the flow of energy one must keep in mind some tips while in this Mudra:

1) Slowly open the eyes.

2) Release the fingers from each others contact.

3) Place the hands back on the lap or knee.

4) Breathe free and relaxed.

Incorporating the Hakini Mudra in the daily practises of life, brings the tri-balance; mind, body and soul. A suggested affirmation while practicing this mudra would be " I am the epitome of confidence. I am filled with confidence."
