Lust always comes with a shadow. It blinds our vision, drives our choices and enslaves us without a drop of realisation. Carl Jung stated that,"Whatever we do not make conscious, returns to us as fate." Lust is leaking energy;which is strongly detrimental to spiritual well being. It shapes the partners we choose, the mistakes we repeat and the shame we try to bury. Spiritually inclined people notices lust as being a manipulative act, pulling one in situations where we lose power, sacrifice our dignity. Lust turns into a leash that ties human beings that convince their psyche that it is love. Passion without depth is hunger;hunger for skin and flesh level connections.

Real relationships require patience, presence and sacrifice; once lust has no power to control our thoughts or bend our will. Spiritual persons quit being controlled by lust as they regard freedom higher than low vibrational exchanges. Another aspect the famous Carl Jung added was,"On the surface, lust looks harmless, but it plants seeds into habits that turn into addictions".

Everytime one indulges in lust, the person gives away their power to a toxic bondage of emptiness.

Hence, repetition of substances over the years turns into toxic addiction. I would like to provide an example of self. Since childhood,I was barred from consuming cakes, ice creams, chocolates, sodas and other sugary foods due to my bronchial asthma. As I grew independent, unconsciously,I used to order all the foods that I was deprived off as a child. After consuming these foods, the momentary satisfaction, instantly turned into disgust. Well, yes a food luster!!! This bondage and borderline addiction to food substances caused me a range of health concerns.

As 2021 began,I learned the concept of reframing and slowly quit sugar and other unhealthy foods as I realised I was in a severe relationship entanglement with food!! This is a classic case of lust. Lust turns our psyche into a relationship entanglement that manifests into ego, fear, incompleteness;rather than genuine love. In the above example, I clearly lacked self love and abused myself with unhealthy food consumption.

Choosing a higher form of experience should be rooted in truth, presence and self-sufficiency. Our shadow selves masks deeper emotional needs and manifests into craving and temptation to fill in the inner void.
